Things we once considered taboo often become something we can’t imagine living without. Think of indoor plumbing or using air conditioning. There was a time when even these commonplace activities were controversial. Recycling water is still seen as unconventional, but with time, education, and more forward thinkers adopting the technology, water reuse will become just as mainstream as other once-taboo topics. Read about some other common water recycling myths, or hear some more taboo-to-normal examples.

Recycling water is the next step toward long-term sustainability. The wasteful, use-it-once water model of the past is ending. Properties that adopt the technology will capture the greatest financial, regulatory, and competitive rewards—and secure resilience for decades to come.
