Epic Cleantec wins Ripple Effect award from USGBC-CA

Epic Cleantec wins Ripple Effect award at USGBC-CA Green Building Conference

Last week we proudly accepted the Ripple Effect award from USGBC-CA during their Civic Leadership & Product Awards ceremony at the Green Building Conference for our impact in sustainable product innovation. The product award honors our recycled water beers, Shower Hour IPA and Laundry Club Kölsch, for helping reshape public perception around water reuse.

As Ben Stapleton, CEO of USGBC California, stated, “By normalizing recycled water through everyday experiences, these beers catalyze cultural change essential to scaling water solutions.” See all the winners and more from our time at the CA Green Building Conference.

The Nueva School

The Nueva School project will reuse 26% of its water onsite with OneWaterTM Rain system

The Nueva School’s Arts and Administration Building is a three-story academic hub that will collect and reuse over 46,000 gallons of highly purified water annually for toilet flushing purposes using Epic Cleantec’s OneWaterTM Rain system.

Epic is providing equipment supply, commissioning, and consulting services to ensure the system is seamlessly integrated into the building’s design and operations. This approach not only improves water efficiency but also reinforces Nueva’s mission to embed sustainability into the daily learning environment. Read more about this project in our case study.

Epic Cleantec named an Inc. Best Workplaces for third consecutive year

We are delighted to be named to Inc. Best Workplaces list for the third consecutive year, highlighting our commitment to building a world-class work environment. We believe the same care and intentionality we bring to transforming how buildings manage water belongs in how we build our team. This award is a reflection of everyone at Epic who shows up every day and makes that culture real. Being named a Best Workplace for the third year in a row reflects something our team already knows: when people feel supported, challenged, and valued, they do their best work. Water & sewer rate blog

Water and sewer utility fees are increasing. Water recycling can help lower those costs.

Cities are adopting multi-year, pre-scheduled rate escalation plans, locking in compounding increases for 4-10+ years. These are not one-time corrections; they are structural shifts that will permanently raise the cost of water and sewer service. They are unlikely to be repealed even if federal action is taken, given the scale of the funding gap across the United States.

For building owners and developers, these escalating costs can directly erode Net Operating Income (NOI), an important metric for determining property value, debt service coverage, and investor returns. Onsite water reuse technology offers a proven, scalable solution. By recycling a building's wastewater for non-potable applications such as toilet flushing, irrigation, cooling, and laundry, systems like Epic Cleantec's OneWater™ platform can reduce a building's water and sewer utility costs by up to 75%, generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual savings for large developments. Read more in our blog where we dive deep on this topic.

Friend, did you know?

Stanford University engineers found that recycled wastewater can be just as safe to drink as conventional potable water—and in some cases even cleaner—with treatment technologies matching or exceeding the purity level of groundwater, traditionally considered the highest quality water source.
